Comparison

CHIRON and a standard EMR

The electronic health record keeps what happened during the visit. What happens at home, between visits, stays outside it.

The catch

The EMR waits for the patient to come back. Pain, fever, questions and missed doses arrive by phone, by message, or not at all, and none of it enters the chart with a date and a source.

Why CHIRON is different

  • It follows what happens afterwards

The patient logs the day in the app, and the chart shows the progress up to the follow-up.

  • EMR, prescriptions and signed notes too

It isn't an app on the side: CHIRON has the chart, prescriptions with an interaction check and signed notes, in one place.

  • It can live alongside your current system

If the clinic keeps its current EMR, the patient list comes in by spreadsheet, FHIR or API.

When to use each

Stay with a standard EMR when

  • The clinic only needs to record what happens in the office.
  • There is no guidance after the visit or procedure.
  • The current system already handles scheduling and billing.

Use CHIRON when

  • Recovery or treatment happens at home.
  • The team wants to know who got worse before the follow-up.
  • The clinic wants follow-up and the chart in the same place.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Does CHIRON replace my EMR?

It can replace it or live alongside it. It has the chart, prescriptions and signed notes; if the clinic keeps its current one, patients come in by spreadsheet, FHIR or API.

  • Does the old chart history come in?

The patient list comes in by spreadsheet or FHIR. For the full history, migration is planned during onboarding.

  • What about insurance?

In the US, CHIRON produces the superbill the patient sends to their plan. Electronic claims go through a clearinghouse, set up with the clinic.
