Surgery

Post-op care, from prep to discharge

The clinic's protocol reaches the patient's phone at the time of each step, and their questions reach the team.

A conversation between the patient and CHIRON, answered from the clinic's protocol.

CHIRON

answers from the clinic's protocol

there is a pinkish fluid coming from the dressing, is that normal?

If you'd like, take a photo in the app and it goes along with it.no source: general guidance, not verified

When to call the clinicAnd what your clinic's protocol marks as a sign not to wait on: bright bleeding that doesn't stop within 10 minutes, fever above 38 °C, or pain that grows instead of easing. If any of them shows up, seek care right away or call 911.

oh, good. I'll take the photo now 💚

Day to day

What changes in the clinic's routine

  • Late-night questions get an answer

CHIRON answers with the text your clinic approved and shows the source. Outside the protocol, the conversation goes to the team.

  • Photos arrive on the agreed day

The patient takes a photo when the protocol asks. If it's dark or blurry, the app asks for another right away. You do the assessing.

  • Follow-ups without a phone call

They book an open slot on the real schedule. If they don't, the clinic's rule alerts the team.

The invitationD+0 · 4:20pm

She goes home with thirty days ahead of her.

She leaves with a prescription, instructions and a phone number nobody wants to use at 3am. The invitation arrives before she gets home. From the next day on, what your clinic wrote shows up at the moment each thing is due: she does not have to remember.

The questionD+1 · 11:40pm

The question doesn't wait for business hours.

Midnight, the dressing changed color, and the alternative is Google. CHIRON answers with the text your clinic wrote and logs the question with its timestamp. If what she describes hits a warning sign in your protocol, it calls the team and leaves the conversation. The 11:40pm question is at the top of the queue in the morning.

The recordD+4 · 8:05am

The photo arrives framed, and it reaches you.

Ana photographs the dressing at eight in the morning. If the image comes out dark, blurry, or out of frame, the app asks for another right there: not three days later, when the dressing is a different one.

Photo quality check and human review queue.

The follow-upD+12 · 1:30pm

She books the follow-up in a slot that actually exists.

No phone call, no waiting for the front desk. She opens the app, sees what the clinic actually has free, and books. The slot leaves the grid right away, for everyone.

Protocol templates

They start as drafts. A clinician checks the values, approves, and only then does the patient see them.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Does CHIRON give guidance on its own?

No. It answers with the text the clinic wrote and approved, and shows where it came from. When a report matches a warning sign in your protocol, it calls the team and steps out. Clinical decisions always belong to the clinician.

  • Do I have to write the protocol from scratch?

No. The library has ten plastic surgery templates, such as rhinoplasty and abdominoplasty. They start as drafts: you check the values and approve before any patient sees them.

  • Does it work for surgery outside plastics?

Yes. The mechanism is the same for any scheduled procedure, from orthopedics to general surgery. What changes is the protocol, which the clinic writes or adapts from a template.

  • What if the patient doesn't open the app?

Reminders and messages also go out by SMS or WhatsApp. Whoever stops logging their diary shows up in the team's queue, with the day and the reason.
