Episode of care

A piece of care with a beginning, middle and end, within the patient's history.

In CHIRON

Each episode starts with a protocol and ends with the outcome the team chooses, with no option selected in advance.

What is Episode of care?

It is the period a patient is followed for one reason: a procedure, a treatment, a condition. The same patient can have several.

Without a beginning and an end, nothing can be measured: not adherence, not outcome, not how long it took.
